Jamie Chang is a singer-songwriter based out of New York City. She began her musical career with the violin at the young age of five. Shortly after, she picked up the clarinet and by the age of twelve performed in Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center with the prestigious New York Pops Orchestra and All-City Wide band. She was also a recipient of the Martin Ormandy scholarship, which honors outstanding young musicians and it gave her the opportunity to train under legendary conductor Skitch Henderson.
From belting out tunes in her room to singing in church she soon found her voice and decided to venture into the more personal and expressive route of songwriting. With influences from Alicia Keys to Kate Voegele and Tim be Told, her music is a mix of pop, r&b and soul. Jamie seeks to share her passion with her audience by candidly writing lyrics that depict her struggles and hope for change.
