Love Springs by Ray Low

Save the face, guard our trust,

It’s easy when they expect the least of us

Explain or find the words to use

Perspective brings a comfort and excuse

The turn of a bitter eye

Is so good at making the blind man cry

The best of our dreams unwinds

At holes by our sides

At times I start to wonder what the world would be like

If we gave each other’s faith a better reason to try

To hold on to hope, to still our rage

And know that love springs joy in our lives today

The struggle to climb is always easier to fall

What once we saw clear, now is nothing at all

It’s then we accept that we’ve no strength by ourselves

Salvation attributed to somebody else

If everything’s meant to die

There must be a reason we cling to life

Sometimes we’re too scared to fight

And neglect to ask why

Bridge:

And from the tears did the truth proclaim

Like words of love written on a grave

If shattered hearts have the final say

The chance to heal is swept away

I’ve finally come to realize what the world would be like

If we gave each other’s faith a better reason to try

So be our hope, still our rage

And know that love springs joy in our lives today

(echo) Save the love, drown the hate

What’s the point of warring anyways?

Give us hope, teach us faith
